Experience

I am currently in private practice working in the Birmingham and Solihull areas, and as a primary care counsellor in an NHS Medical Practice.

I have worked with staff and students of many nationalities in a Further Education College and in a university setting as a member of the counselling service team.

I work with clients on their emotional and psychological problems, including:

Stress and anxiety
Depression
Self-esteem and identity
Personal development
Relationship problems
Abuse
Self-harm
Loss, bereavement, and grief
Traumatic events
Issues in the workplace
Cultural issues

Approach

I take an integrative, whole-of-life attitude when working with individual clients. In complete confidence, and on a short-term or open-ended basis – again depending on the client’s need, we work together to explore the underlying cause of your problem, consider what might be stopping you from reaching your full potential; and determine what you might need to do to improve your situation.

This will enable you to better understand and accept yourself, to modify your behaviour so that it is more productive and rewarding for you, and to help you move towards becoming the kind of person you want to be.

Follow this link if you’d like to have useful information on the integrative way of working. And try this one to learn a bit more about Mindfulness, which is a integrated mind/body approach which I find particularly useful.
